We continue the fight in gaining the rights to wear & celebrate our crowns. Crowns referring to our hair or hairstyles in our African-American culture. Slaying our natural texture that we were born with in its organic state with all our coils, braids, twists, locs, or Afros in public spaces. The House Passes the Crown Act! The C.R.O.W.N. It's personal. I wrote about my hair raising story for our non-profit book club, CWGLA in my personal coming-of-age hair story, "Hair Chronicles" which highlights the bond of family and our plight with hair discrimination that has plagued our people over the generations.
